We were all counting the days for his return since David Rodigan’s last appearance in Bern/Switzerland, which is dating back to September 18th, 2015. It took a while to find the right date in his extensive touring agenda – no wonder, considering the long lasting reggae DJ career of David „Ram Jam“ Rodigan and the huge demand for him. Nearly 40 years Sir David Rodigan is now teasing Reggae & Dancehall fans worldwide with his musical selections, famous & historical dubplates, speeches and antics. In the early 60’s he discovered Ska while still beeing a schoolboy and it took him down the right lane, helping him to delevop an unsinkable passion for reggae music and Jamaica. Rodigan is into reggae & dancehall music for a long long time, for his radio shows he interviewed and met all famous artists from the 70’s up to this day – even the late ones like Bob Marley, Dennis Brown and Garnett Silk got interviewed by him. These experiences and all the other thousands of „untold stories“ made David became a living encyclopaedia of Jamaica’s musical history. All this and more can also be read in his biography “David Rodigan – my life in Reggae” which came out early 2017! David Rodigan will please the crowd in Bern with a mixture of new reggae & dancehall music, re-styled tunes from the past, old pearls and a of course a lot of entertainment!! We are happy to welcome the dancehall’s living legend at the „Kingston Club“ @ Gaskessel in Bern/Switzerland. As you can imagine the line up is not completed as of yet – we also invited Basel’s #1 dancehall entertainers „Claasilisque Sound“ with Scolou & Easy Yves to join us at the „Kingston Club“. Classilisque Sound got founded in 2004 and are known as crowd pleasers and originators of the longest running reggae & dancehall party in Switzerland – the„Irie Monday“!! Since 2008 „Irie Monday“ is taking place every monday and quickly became a solid home base for reggae & dancehall lovers in Switzerland’s north. In Switzerland Skarra Mucci is well known for his collaborations with some hip hop artists in the late 90’s, and of course for his massive hit „Bonx it pon me“ (produced by Ganglords) which got him heavily airplay on the Swiss radio stations. Skarra Mucci got already five LP’s on his belt – his 2014 release „Greater than Great“ got nominated as the best dancehall album in France. Currently he is working on his 6th album called „Dancehall President“ which is going to be released on May 13, 2016. Expect to hear one or the other brandnew track at the #KingstonClub show. Skarra Mucci’s performance will be supported by his longtime sound Deebuzz Sound from Mannheim/Germany and of course they will also play a party set right after Skarra’s show. read moreOn Saturday, March 12, 2016 we re-welcome Germany’s wickedest juggling team at the #KingstonClub at the Gaskessel in Bern/Switzerland ==> Shotta Paul and Meska aka JUGGLERZ from Stuttgart/Germany!! A wicked night full of reggae & dancehall is guaranteed as Jugglerz are well known for their top entertainment qualities and musical selections. Join us at the dance and party with Jugglerz & King Size Sound! Basically a year after their last performance in Bern the Jugglerz are back at the Kingston Club @ the Gaskessel in Bern and a lot has happened in the meantime. Shortly after the dance in Bern City the Jugglerz went to Berlin to kill Black Chiney at the War Inna East Soundclash. At the Summerjam in Cologne they „jamaicafied“ hip hop artists Cro’s stage show on the main stage before tearing down the festival’s dancehalltent. In August they travelled to Jamaica for the Dreamweekend in Negril where Jugglerz went head to head with Tony Matterhorn in a musical battle that ended handcuffed. Both MC’s have been carried away to the police station because of the use of indicent language, but got released later on 🙂 Jugglerz also continued their work as producers on the label „Jugglerz Records“ and are soon going to release the album „Jugglerz City“ – the release date will be March 18th, 2016 – you can preorder the album on iTunes & Amazon. It features tunes from artists like I-Octane, Chris Martin, Randy Valentine, Bugle, Romain Virgo, Phenomden and more!
